The first King's Readers arrive in school

Madagascar has almost no English storybooks of its own. So we wrote our own. This week we are delighted to share that the first wave of King's Readers, the Pink and Red Band stories, have arrived in school and are now in every Reception and Year 1 classroom.

The first six titles take Koto, Rafa, and Kit through the markets, fishing boats, and forests of Toamasina. Each book is matched carefully to the phonics phase the children are working through, so what they decode on the page is exactly what they have practised in their lesson that morning.

Reception parents will see the first reader come home in their child's book bag this Friday. Please read with your child every day. Even ten minutes makes a measurable difference.
