Culture & wellbeing

Life at King's.

Our school is a community. All of us, staff and pupils and parents and trustees, play a part in making it a safe, secure, and enjoyable place to be. We take that seriously.

Safeguarding

Keeping every child safe.

Our overarching commitment, our designated lead, and how we train and act.

Behaviour

Calm, kind, and clear.

Our expectations, our rewards, and our firm line on bullying.

Health & wellbeing

Looking after the whole child.

Pastoral care, physical activity, mental health, and our school chaplain.

Diversity & inclusion

A school for every child.

A genuinely international community: Malagasy, French, British, and many more.

Safeguarding

A safe school.

  • · A trained Designated Safeguarding Lead (the Deputy Head)
  • · Annual safeguarding training for every member of staff
  • · Police record check on every adult who works at the school
  • · A clear reporting route for children, parents, and staff
  • · Termly safeguarding audit by an independent reviewer
Behaviour

Calm corridors, focused lessons.

We expect children to be kind, to try their best, and to be honest. When they fall short, we name it gently and clearly, and we expect them to put things right. We do not shout. We do not shame. We do not let things slide either.

Bullying is named and tackled directly. Every incident is recorded and followed up.
