Parent engagement

Parents are part of the team.

A primary-school education works best when school and home pull in the same direction. We work hard to make that easy: regular communication, open doors, and clear expectations on both sides.

What we do

How school reaches you.

  • · Weekly parent letter every Friday
  • · Termly written report on every child
  • · Termly parent consultation with the class teacher
  • · Open-door morning every half term: drop in, see the classroom
  • · An annual whole-school open evening
  • · Direct email to every class teacher and member of leadership
What we ask

How you support your child.

  • · Read with your child every day, even for ten minutes
  • · Make sure they sleep enough and arrive on time
  • · Sign the reading record, look at the homework
  • · Tell us early if anything at home might affect them at school
  • · Come to consultations and open mornings. We want to see you
  • · Speak to the teacher first when there's a worry, then to leadership if needed
Friends of King's

The parent association.

Friends of King's is the school's parent association. They run termly socials, fundraise for school equipment, and welcome new families. Every parent is automatically a member; there is nothing to join.

To get involved or to chair an event, speak to the school office or email friends@kingsgrammarschool.com.
